Formula is a concept for a supermarket of the future. Aimed at serving clients who are busy in their family and career lives, it was born considering the most time consuming aspects of grocery shopping, transforming them into the simplest and suggestive versions of their previous selves. Tackling the problem of decision making and product location, the design of Formula allows the user to streamline their shopping experience from before they step into the store- giving them the opportunity to choose products based upon the recipes in the digital "Recipe Book-" saving them the time and stress of having to choose what they would like to prepare. Once arrived in the store, they will be greeted by digital totems where they can complete their choice process and print out their recipes, which will include a refined and innovative product shelving location, serving as a wayfinding for their navigation through the vertically positioned columns where the seasonal and constant recipe products will be on display, in addition to their respective wine pairing options that will be above the recipes. Formula also included a Chef's Table space, which opportunistically can be used to host food tasting events that can construct and reinfoce a community of shoppers who value our approach.
